Meet Christina
Christina R. Martinez, LCSW
From the time I was in high school, I’ve been driven by a single, profound goal: to leave the world a better place by helping others. So, it makes sense that my journey as a healer began early—I was blessed with a compassionate heart and an inborn ability to listen. Even as a teenager, my friends and classmates appreciated my ability to maintain confidentiality and provide insightful guidance.
Since then—as a licensed therapist with 20 years of experience—I’ve dedicated my life to helping people through their unique challenges.
At Rose Matrix Counseling in Chandler, Arizona, I specialize in areas like anxiety, perfectionism, life transitions, and young adulthood, with a deep understanding that each individual requires a tailored approach to therapy.
My Philosophy and Approach
Therapy is more than just a profession to me—it’s a passion. I’m constantly amazed by human resilience and people’s incredible capacity for healing, even in the face of deep, profound trauma. Because no matter how hurt we are, we all want to belong, to make meaningful connections. Those desires inspire my work, reinforcing my belief in the healing power of support and understanding.
I hold three core values as a therapist:
As my client, you’re the expert in yourself
Everyone can heal
We “grow through what we go through”—struggles can be a way to learn lessons
I try to embody these values and approach therapy as a partnership, focusing on holistic wellness that encompasses the mind, body, and spirit. My role is to help you unlock your true potential, recognizing and building on your strengths, and empowering you to navigate the tumultuous turbulence of life.
Outside of the Therapy Room
Having moved to sunny Arizona in 2006 after completing my studies at the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor, I’ve immersed myself in the local Arizona community.
As an active member of the Chandler community, my commitment to people stretches beyond individual therapy. To support this commitment, I’ve done everything from serving on the Executive Board of the School Social Work Association of Arizona to volunteering at the Child Crisis Nursery.
My hobbies are as diverse as my approach to mental health. From painting and karaoke to weightlifting, hiking, and yoga, I love to do many different things. You’ll find rock, rap, folk, classical, R&B, and pop on my playlist—I feel that good music, no matter what genre, is a great way to experience life in all its vibrancy. I also enjoy relaxing with my husband and our beloved rescue pups—because who doesn’t need downtime?
This wide range of interests and hobbies also mirrors my therapeutic approach: I avoid assumptions, believe that people are complex—that they don’t fit in a “single” box—and I trust that each of my clients knows what’s best for them.

Yes, absolutely!
Telehealth can be just as effective as in-person psychotherapy (https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/34860613/)
There are also additional benefits of choosing Telehealth-- convenience being the biggest factor.
No more hustling in traffic or driving in bad weather to make it to your appointment… just log-on from wherever you are!
Comfort is another draw of Telehealth. For a lot of clients, especially those with anxiety, their home is where they feel most safe & secure. Being able to join session from a known safe space can allow clients to participate more effectively in the therapeutic process.

Rose Matrix Counseling symbolizes the transformative journey of self-discovery. A rose, with its layers of intricate, interconnected petals, represents the matrix of our inner world—each layer offering a new depth of beauty, truth, and understanding as we explore it. The name also draws inspiration from the Matrix movies, where taking the red pill allows one to see past illusions and awaken to a hidden reality. This symbolizes the courage it takes to confront our past and uncover a deeper, more authentic sense of self. Additionally, Rose is my middle name, adding a personal connection to the vision of this practice.

While I am not in-network with any insurance carriers, I can provide you with a receipt, known as a SuperBill, which you can provide to your insurance to see if our work together might be reimbursed. I encourage you to reach out to your insurance plan to see if you have Out of Network (OON) coverage which could help offset the cost of therapy.
